Birth Injury Claims

Birth Injury Claims

For most people the arrival of a new baby is a happy and exciting time. Sadly, for a few, adverse events before, during or after birth have devastating consequences. Those consequences may include brain damage to the baby, requiring lifetime 24 hour care, and the family may wish to sue.

But not all such injuries will have been caused by negligence. If a claim for damages is to succeed, it must be proved that the care given was substandard and that the outcome would probably have been different with competent care.

A child is likely to be entitled to public funding (Legal Aid) for the case to be investigated, so legal fees will be one less thing to worry about.

Birth injury cases are complex claims to investigate, requiring specialist expertise. Lees Solicitors LLP are one of the few specialist clinical negligence firms in the North West and are based on the Wirral. We have acted in a dozen cases in which damages have exceeded £1 million, and are handling many more of similar value. We have won a national award for our work on our biggest-ever case in which we obtained damages of £5.62 million.

There are 9 lawyers in our clinical negligence team who, supported by a former midwife and a doctor, handle claims throughout the North West and beyond. We pride ourselves on rigorous investigation and attention to detail, whilst treating our clients with the sensitivity that their cases demand.
