home equity release mortgages

home equity mortgages

At Lees Solicitors we have extensive experience in advising clients on the implications of taking out a Home Equity Release Mortgage.

Such products are often referred to as “lifetime mortgages.”

They are special loans, which are usually designed to run for the rest of your life. It means that you can borrow money that is secured against your home to give you either a lump sum or regular income.

The amount that you owe to the mortgage provider is usually paid back from the proceeds of the sale of your home following your death.

As solicitors, we cannot comment on the financial viability of the mortgage product offered to you, or how it compares to other products on the market. However, we make sure that you understand the legal obligations and implications that the mortgage will have upon you.

  • "“I feel you should have the biggest debt of thanks as you actioned a very important piece of work that has enabled my sister to be so happy at the moment. Moreover, I truly believe that your expediency in this matter overcame what could only be described as procrastination on behalf of the care professionals charged with my sister's welfare and your actions and you alone made this successful outcome a reality for all concerned. I am extremely happy with your services and that of the firm you represent"

Wills, Trusts & Estates: Dave Murray
  • "We were very happy with the treatment we received for re-writing our wills and the advice provided at the time has proved to be both up-to-date and extremely important; we were not aware of recent changes and the advice we received has proved invaluable"

Wills, Trusts & Estates: Sharon & John Weston
  • "I brought Helen along for her initial introductory appointment, she immediately felt comfortable with you (Sarah Fox). The understanding and empathy displayed by you at her initial meeting suggested to her that you were going to look after her and her eight year old daughters best interests. You gave good and free advice on how to handle all aspects of her case and how to manage any situations that may arise. There was no choice to be made, you were the legal eagle that Helen wanted in her corner. Once Helen had given the go ahead you swept into action, keeping Helen informed of each step of the way"

  • "“We received a friendly and professional service which was quick and clarified each step of the Wills process. This was especially useful as we had no real legal knowledge and didn’t know what to expect”"

  • "“The final figure was great! I had hoped to replace the cost of my bike which I use to cycle to work and maybe recover my lost earnings so this was far more than I was expecting"

    Personal Injury: Mr D, Deeside
  • "Very pleased with Ms Skillens support throughout a very difficult time. Very approachable and I felt I was able to ask questions and get a timely response. Thank you"

  • "You treat me like a person, and not a thing. I can speak to any of you like a friend and you will be always be there for me, to sit and speak to"

  • "Dominic did the conveyancing on the sale of my late father’s property and provided expert and efficient service. He made the whole process stress free for me, with regular updates and clear communication. There was an old charge on the property and, although it initially appeared problematic, Dominic managed to get this resolved, pursuing the issue with the third party and Land Registry until it was successfully removed. He answered any questions that I had, always responding promptly and reassured me that I could contact him at any time. I will most definitely ask Dom to do any future conveyancing and will recommend to others"
