professional negligence

professional negligence solicitors

Most of us will need to rely on professional advice at some time, but unfortunately there are occasions when their actions or advice falls short of the standard you should expect to receive.

If this causes you to suffer financially, our professional negligence solicitors may be able to help you with a compensation claim.

Our team of experienced specialists have extensive knowledge of disputes concerning professional negligence. We will work closely with our clients to explore all available options, including the possibility of settling the matter without starting court proceedings.

types of professional negligence

Lees Solicitors can help with many different types of professional negligence. For example, if you trusted your lawyer to handle your house conveyancing and they failed to spot a major problem, that has caused you financial loss, then you may have a claim for solicitor negligence.

However, if it was your surveyor who missed something important when carrying out the survey, and you have suffered loss, then you may have a claim for surveyor negligence.

Alternatively, if you entrusted a financial adviser or accountant to advise you on your financial affairs, or those of your company, and have been left out of pocket after following their poor advice, you may have a claim for accountant negligence or financial advisor negligence.

Other cases our professional negligence solicitors can help with include:

  1. Barrister negligence
  2. Estate agent negligence
  3. Architect negligence
  4. Engineer negligence
  5. Quantity surveyor negligence
  6. Project manager negligence
  7. Building contractor negligence
  8. Equine and livestock vet negligence
  9. Bank interest rate swap mis-selling

what if my claim is worth less than £10,000?

Lees Solicitors are unable to accept professional negligence claims worth less than £10,000, these matters would generally be allocated to the “small claims” track in the County Court. This track is designed for Claimants to represent themselves and you are not likely to be able to recover your legal fees.

For this reason, in small claims, clients usually want to keep their legal fees to a minimum. Lees consider that accepting these matters poses too great a risk to the client, as we are unable to advise without considering the case as a whole, which we cannot do without fees becoming disproportionate.

What level of service did you receive at Lees?

"I have dealt with two of your solicitors for two separate matters, both of whom have been excellent, I would urge anyone needing a solicitor to look no further than Lees."

What did you think of Lees Solicitors?

The staff at Birkenhead have always acted impeccably and I can't thank them all enough, in what has been a very traumatic and stressful time for me and my family - but onwards and upwards.
